Paula Cole is well known for the Dawson's Creek theme song "I Don't Want to Wait", which is on this album, as well as "Where Have All the Cowboy's Gone". A lot of times her sound is judged by those two well known songs, but you have to listen to her songs and styles in their entirety to understand it. Paula Cole has an unusual style that is really something that most people aren't attracted too. This is a very angry sounding album that is very intense. Paula Cole is very intelligent in finding a creative way to express her inner sadness and express her angers. Most of the songs seem to go through emotional phases, from light singing to screaming to angry vocal tones. This style is appropriate because a lot of us that go through inner squabbles feel millions of emotions at once and Paula finds a way to show this in her album.

My favorite song on "This Fire" is "Me". I really can't explain why, the lyrics reach out to you and really hit home. I guess it really explains me.

There are eleven tracks on this cd:

"Tiger""Where Have All the Cowboys Gone?""Throwing Stones""Carmen""Mississippi""Nietzsche's Eyes""Road to Dead""Me""Feelin' Love""Hush, Hush, Hush""I Don't Want To Wait"All and all, this is a very powerful album that you have to listen to with an open mind and an open heart. I purchased this album at Best Buy for $10.
