I started my Paula Deen collection lastyear, I have not yet found one piece that I did not like!

I purchased the 5" and 7" Santokus knife set at Wal-Mart for $24.97, and from the first time I held them when I took them out of the package I knew I would love them and I do indeed.

These knives are well balanced and easy to handle, the eco friendly handles are made of acacia wood and have three rivets holding it in place to the blade, or tangs as they call them. Speaking of which the blade, or tang, it runs the complete length of the knife.

The blade is a tempered and hardened high carbon Japanese steel. The edge of the blade has dips in it, making it easier to cut most anything with. You know how sometimes when you cut something it seems to cling to the blade? Well, this one it doesn't and I believe it is due to the "dips".

Paula Deen has a great quality assurance policy, if there are any defects found in the knife that you do not inflict yourself, they will replace it for you! I love that!

One thing I do want to point out, as with any good quality knife, you do not want to wash in your automatic dishwashers, nor do you want to place in a dishpan. Two reasons for the later, one being safety because these blades are super sharp! Two being you do not want to let the knives soak.

I love these knives and they are a fair price, making them an excellent investment in my opinion!
