I've had numerous surgeries on both of my feet. As a result, I have scars in various places and have a problem with my heels becoming very tough and cracked. To prevent really painful cracks, I have to go through a daily process of soaking, scrubbing, and moisturizing- all of which takes about 45 minutes. Doing this every night is very tedious, so when a friend recommended the PedEgg, I decided to try it out.
I was happy to find the PedEgg at Walmart for under $10. At first, it seemed like I was going to get what I paid for...not much. The Egg isn't very large; it fits perfectly into the palm of your hand. The Egg breaks down into two halfs, so that you can empty out the skin flakes when you are done (gross, I know). On the base of the Egg is the metal grate that you rub on your heel to smooth your skin. This grate is basically what you'd find on a cheese grater...literally. It's very sharp, so be careful where you use it (don't use it on your elbows!).
Overall, I really liked the PedEgg. You need to be careful how hard you use it, and where you use it, though. Don't get too excited about getting smooth feet, or you'll end up removing a layer of good skin! I now use the PedEgg once a week, along with daily moisturizer. No more 45 minutes daily routine just to have smooth feet!
