Last Christmas, my hubby got The Orange Box, which is a collection of 5, mostly shooter, games. So naturally, I got used to the sounds of gunfire coming from the computer over the following weeks. Then one night, I heard a completely different sound. Happy, bouncy noises, and the triumphal sound of Ode to Joy, to be exact. "What on earth", I thought to myself. I came around the corner to find my husband playing the demo for Peggle Deluxe. I'll admit, I laughed. And then I teased him. Peggle? Really??
Peggle is a pin-ball type game full of lights, sounds, and colours. It has 10 lovable creatures who teach you the ropes and give you special abilities that help you defeat all 55 levels of pin-balling fun! Don't be fooled. This is no simple game. One must really hone his or her skills if they intend to become a peggle master!
This game really draws you in. Once you start, it's almost impossible to stop. Once I got addicted to Peggle, I realized I owed hubby an apology. Peggle is fun! I just love hearing Ode to Joy when I make the winning shot, or using the Instant Replay function (you know, for gloating purposes :P), or going head-to-head against the computer or another person in the Duel Mode.
This is the casual game that truly is fun for all ages. I think anyone from 8-80 would absolutely love this game. Even if you're a hard-core gamer, I dare you to take a break for a couple levels of light hearted Peggle playing. And don't be surprised if you get addicted.
