I needed a remote control recently so I decided to shop around to see what remote control seemed like it was best suited to my needs. I have a DVR, satellite, and TV so I wanted a remote that would run all three devices. While shopping, I saw the Philips Universal Remote Control.
The Philips Universal Remote Control is advertised to control the TV, DVD, VCR and satellite. It is advertised as one of the easiest to use remote controls and is supposed to work with around 325 different brands of TVs, VCRs and DVDs.
It also has glow in the dark keys which is nice but it does have to be very dark in the room. Other features include the ability to save your code for 10 minutes while changing the batteries. The Philips Universal Remote Control also has a PIP button and a button for turning on subtitles if your TV has that ability.
When I got home with this remote control I set it up to work with the TV and satellite. It was very easy to set up. The first code I used was correct. My main concern was whether it would work with the DVR and it does. The only thing about controlling the DVR is you have to find the right keys to work each function of the DVR which was not too difficult.
I must say for a fairly inexpensive remote control I am very pleased with this product.
