Physician's Formula Baked Collection eye shadows are a great invention in make-up. Baked on actual terra-cotta tiles, these small orbs of eye shadow can be applied either wet or dry. The dry application is lighter and perfect for day wear. The wet application is longer-wearing and adds deeper and more dramatic color. Both applications have a bit of shimmer that brightens the eye.
Available in a variety of neutral and smoky shades, these shadows are versatile. I find myself using the Baked Gingersnap shadow practically every day--the rose, bronze, and deep chocolate tones are flattering and work with almost any outfit. I would love if they would add some more jewel tones to their collection for variety, but it's possible the deeper dyes might not be as hypoallergenic.
The product is fragrance-free and great for sensitive eyes. I've never had any irritation from using this product. The wet application of the darker shadows subs in well for eyeliner and is a lot easier on the skin.
The unique raised shape of the shadow allows for maximum use of the product. It lasts a long time and you definitely get your money's worth.
Be wary of the lighter shade combinations like Baked Sugar, as they barely show up on skin in the dry application. The wet applications are extra long-wearing. There can be a little bit of creasing with wet application as the day wears on, but much less than other products. A quick swipe of the finger or applicator brush easily smoothes the shadow out again.
Overall a great, versatile product.
