As a former rower who is used to extreme workouts and pushing your body to it's maximum limits, I have suffered from many back problems; therefore, my doctor recommended I try out pilates. I was not too excited by this because I am used to intense workouts and feeling the results right away. I wanted to try it on my own first, before taking a class, I went to the store not knowing much about Pilates, and just picked out a Pilates DVD. 10 Minute Solutions breaks down major muscle groups into 10 minute increments. The workouts include: Super Toned Buns and Thighs, Arm and Shoulder Shaper, Waist Slimmer, Total Body Blast, Slim and Sleek Stretch. What I really liked was that you can either do the whole DVD, which is a total of 50 minutes or you can just pick a muscle group and do 10 minutes at a time. There is even a feature so that you can customize your workout, allowing you to choose the sequence of how you would like to workout. I definitely felt the results the next day. I love this workout because who doesn't have 10 minutes in their day? Sometimes I get up in the morning and just do the stretch and then go on with my day. It's a good way to start and end your day. It's also great when I am getting ready to go out on a Friday night and am feeling a little blah, so I will just pop in the DVD and do the 10 minute waist slimmer and then get ready to go out. It makes me feel good, knowing I got a workout in, even if it was just 10 minutes; and I like that I can feel the results. I am very pleased with this workout, and since I have started Pilates, I have had less back problems.
