I recieved this book for Christmas. Michael Crichton is one of my favorite authors and when he passed away in 2008 I was hoping he had some work that would still be released. I have always enjoyed going to the store and seeing a new Michael Crichton novel on the shelf. I was very surprised when Pirate Latitudes was sitting on the shelves. It was found as a full manuscript in his files after Michael Crichtons passing.

The story is a typical Pirate themed story of treasure seeking men, sea storms and beasts and the ruff and tumble life of early colonies in the Caribbean. Pirate Latitudes is a very entertaining book. Not a typical novel from Mr. Crichton. His novels seems to usually have a lot of technical medical language in them, this one does not so if you did not read Crichton books because of the medical terms this would be a perfect novel to look into. It is a straight forward entertaining story. A very easy read.If you enjoy Pirate stories this would be a great addition to your collection and if you are a Michael Crichton fan then this is defenatly a must have.

I have a hard cover copy and it has 312 pages.
