Sometimes the women in my family like to think they are doctors. You know the ones - pulling out the medical books or doing searches on the internet, coming up with diagnosis or possible diagnosis. Sometimes ridiculous diagnosis (Like when my mother told my wife we might have carbon monoxide poisoning because the family all had headaches).
The Original Dr Mom Otoscope allows you to play doctor a little. You use it to look into your child or an adult's ears and see if they have an infection. It can be a little tricky using the otoscope, though. You have to pull the ear up and out a little. The kids squirm, making it even more difficult. Sometimes we have been successful using this otoscope and sometimes not. I don't blame the otoscope, but do blame the user.
I really like that the otoscope is compact. It takes batteries and has a light, so you can see into the ear canal. I have the black one that is an older model and I don't like the construction. It is a bit flimsy and the ear cone sometimes falls out. There is a newer model that is stainless steel and since my daughter is having a lot of ear problems right now, I may purchase the newer model. I do like that the price is right. For about $20 to $25, you can't go wrong.
