We went to Playacar Palace in Playa Del Carmen Mexico for an extended weekend. I had never been to an all inclusive so I didn't really know what to expect.
The check-in was seamless, and they greeted you with a glass of sparkling wine and a flower for the ladies. We had to wait a bit for our room, but we were able to relax and lounge by the pool.
The pool was clean and well cared for. It was large and there was a very nice pool bar. Every day they offered a variety of pool activities such as water volleyball and water aerobics. I am not a big group activity participant, but everyone who joined in was laughing and having a great time.
The room was clean for the most part (I am overly picky when it comes to cleanliness). The beds were very comfortable and there were plenty of pillows. The view from our balcony was absolutely amazing. We were able to see the ocean and the pool from our fourth floor room. Every room also had a two person hot tub in it. My hubby and I made sure to take advantage of this every night.
The food was surprisingly good. Their were three restaurants which you could choose from and a buffet. I ate at the buffet most days however we did check out the Asian and the Italian restaurant. I don't really think Asian or Italian when I think Mexico, but the food was pretty darn tasty.
The staff did a wonderful job catering to our every need, and providing plenty of bottled water. I was very impressed.
Although I was leery of going to Mexico I found that it was a wonderful experience and would love to do another all inclusive vacation sometime soon.
