Lip plumpers are still big, if you'll pardon the pun. One of the first, and still one of the best, is Lip Venom by DuWop. It won a Best of Sephora award, voted on by Sephora customers, and has been featured in magazines like Allure, Lucky, and In Style.
It is packaged in the trademarked pink cardboard tube; inside is a glass tube of the "venom" with a built-in brush. It brushes onto clean lips, or over lipstick if you prefer, and almost instantly your lips begin to feel warm and tingly. The spicy odor is from cinnamon and ginger, but don't worry, it also has jojoba seed oil and avocado oil to keep your lips kissably soft. Within just a few minutes, your lips are fuller and redder, as the spices bring more blood to the surface. It creates the just-kissed (with a great kiss) look that many women seek.
The only down-side is that the plumpness doesn't last very long; less than an hour, for me. Also, I found the spices that plumped were a little irritating to my (sensitive) skin; my sister didn't have that problem, though, and her lips stayed plumper a little longer than mine. The price is about average for lip plumpers that actually work, so I can't gripe about it. I gave it just over a 4 because I did think that for $16, my lips should stay fuller for more than an hour, but if I use it, I take it with me so that I can reapply as needed. The 3.5 ml of product lasts at least a couple of months with regular use.
