The PocketBook is very well priced at $199.99. This is a very basic eReader that allows users to read books, bookmark, comment, and save. This eReader has an internal memory of 64 megabytes, which is capable of storing a hundred books or so. This really depends on the book size. Longer books usually take up more space while shorter books take up less. It uses a mini-USB (Universal Serial Bus) connection, and it comes with e-ink technology. This is about it for the product details.
I was quite surprised that the PocketBook has the e-ink technology. The e-ink technology makes the reader experience very similar to on paper. Words that appear on the eReader look like ink. This feature gives me a realistic experience.
I find that reading books is easy enough. It comes with a next page and previous page button. I simply press the button and then the page turns. I simply continue reading on the next page. I don’t really have a problem with reading on the PocketBook. The only problem I have experienced is that I get eye strains if I read for a long time. Part of the reason is that this eReader has a bright display. It doesn’t come with advanced technology to control brightness and backlight dimness. There is no night mode so do not attempt to read in the dark, like I once tried. I find that it is very important to have some room light when reading on this eReader, otherwise it will hurt your eyes.
The PocketBook has a small library of their own, but it is mandatory to get books from other sources. This eReader accepts many file formats including PDF, TXT, and HTML. I find that HTML is the most useful file format. It is very easy to find and read books online. After I find the book, I save the page in an offline HTML format, and then read it on the eReader. However, I find the main problem is lack of books. It is fairly hard to find books to read. I have to use quite a few sources. I have tried using Amazon’s bookstore, but I do not know how to transfer the books onto the PocketBook. Books from Amazon are downloaded directly from the Kindle. I don’t see how I can transfer it or save it directly to the PocketBook. I don’t know whether or not this is possible, but I have been unsuccessful. I do not recommend this product as there finding books is very hard.
