The Polaroid Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom lens is good for the novice digital camera user as well as someone who has a little more experience using digital cameras. However, I would not recommend this to someone who is very knowledgeable when it comes to cameras like this. Simply because, it doesn't have all those bells and whistles that one who is more experienced would love! A distant shot of an athlete may be blurred or lack clarity since you are limited in zoom or a macro shot taken with this camera for a professional website may not have the resolution you seek.
I purchased this digital camera based on my specific needs. For instance, I knew I would primarily use this camera for head and bodyshots of my children which is great. The flash is great--sometimes too great, so I have to cut it off especially on some indoor shots. This camera is a great indoor camera for people shots and very nice for landscaping. You will get very clear shots as long as you watch for the signals the screen provides you -- green square to go, red to change your position-move closer or further back from subject etc.
I like how easy it is to view photos right after you have taken them too. I learned quickly what the icons meant when I wanted to switch from say, photo to movie (the movie is a great feature but it is very short-- depending on the size of your memory card--you will definitely need a memory card with mucho gigabytes!) With the choices of icons that are preset to take pictures based on the lighting, f-stop and other photo settings, you will most likely take a nice photo. There is a feature for taking pictures of words and numbers, night shots, day shots, landscaping, portraits, etc.
This particular camera came with a digital photoframe, usb cord, instruction booklet and batteries. Speaking of batteries, they run down quickly if you aren't using the type specifically made for digital cameras, but even with the right ones, I still don't get alot of shots, at most maybe 20 plus.
The camera included a plastic, rubber waterproof cover which I keep on to protect it in the event it is dropped. In the past, the camera was dropped, but didn't break.
One of the best features I like about this camera is how big the screen is when reviewing photos. I also like the additional features I can use to crop or add effects to the photos right on the camera's screen.
Uploading photos to my computer is a cinch! I just plug the cord in and select an option to erase the photos from my camera when done and then that's it! Polaroid does offer software that came with the camera if you want to do more with your photos.
Overall, the camera is okay, but not the best. If the price is dirt cheap, snatch it up! If it is over $100 plus at the time of this writing, pass on it.
