The first time I played Call of Duty 4 was around last year (2008) at about September. I was really 'newbish' at the game but as I kept playing I increased my skill level significantly. By customising my Keyboard keys e.g Q for Knife and F for Sprint was one thing that had helped me become a better player.
But why is this game so popular? Is it because of the graphics? Is it because of how the game is played?
Graphics - Graphics play a major role in any game including Call of Duty 4. But everyone knows if you had compared Crysis with Call of Duty 4, Call of Duty 4 will be voted better. But Crysis had better graphics, correct? So how is Call of Duty 4 better than Crysis?
Gameplay - Is it because of the gameplay? Crysis and Call of Duty 4 have very different gameplay styles even if they are both FPS games.
The reason why Call of Duty 4 is a popular multiplayer game is because it is fast, has decent graphics, and the gameplay is very well done. The game has everything balanced out together. Great story, great multiplayer, decent graphics, nice sound quality etc.
But if you looked at games such as Crysis, you could tell they had spent too much time on the graphical side of the game instead of the plot of the game and how the story starts off and ends.
