Several months ago i managed to buy a pair of brown dress shoes from Portland Shoes in a local shopping centre. They set me back at $39.99, (reduced from $59.99 so the tag said) and were one size too big, which was purely due to my error in judgment. As seen in the photo, the shoes are of a relatively basic design and colour, however they do the job they were meant to do. These shoes look good with all jeans and dress pants while at the same time won't attract too much attention.
From what i can tell, the shoes are not genuine leather, however they seem to wear very slowly, with only the odd scratch on the tips of the shoes. As like most men's dress shoes, these benefit greatly from a good polish, and after my dad's several comments on they're scrappyness" i've managed to buy myself a polishing block to fix them up.
The shoes are slip ons, which for myself, means less time putting on shoes and more time fixing any little problems with my wardrobe. At the time, the Portland shoe store said the shoes were only sold in brown, and to me this was quite a dissapointment, as black shoes would have been idea for my place of work aswell.
The main thing is comfort, and personally these shoes are no hassel, and after 4 or 5 hours out and about, i don't seem to be getting any foot aches whatsoever.
In the end it's up to you, but to me, i said try Portland Brand Dress shoes, the design will change from year to year, however the quality won't. Merry Christmas aswell.
