I found an awesome deal on a weed eater at Home-Depot. This one usually costs in excess of $100, but last weekend we got a steal at under $80.
This Poulan Gas string trimmer handles the tallest weeds I have to conquer. I live on an acre of property that needs constant attention. With this 25cc gas engine, I am able to lay anything flat with ease. The curved shaft helps to relieve pain that may come in the form of shoulder and back pain. It did not come with a strap though. I think that this was something that they (Poulan) failed to recognize as a need. It is about 15-20 lbs. and can really become a strenuous tool to handle after about 30 minutes.
This one is light green with a shroud and it is fairly easy to handle. It comes with a bottle of mix, but the string is something you will have to buy on the side. I suggest you also pick up a gas can just for the mixed gas. It also has a 1-800 number right on the weed eater should you need starting assistance or to ask general questions.
This weed eater beats an electric trimmer by far and is a tool every lawn owner should have. It is my recommendation that you pick one up of this model, as it is lightweight and very effective. It can really tear up heavy foliage.
This one will operate in a complete upside-down angle for edging purposes. The string feeds itself with a tap on the ground. It has two strings that you wind for better cutting and a more thorough trim.
I love this weed eater, it is just the one for me. I am getting a little old for this type of work though and would rather pay the neighbor boy $10 an hour to do it for me. He handles this one with no problems.
