I work the overnight shift at work, 5:30pm to 5:30am. When I come home in the mornings and I'm settling into bed there are always informercials on TV. One morning I saw an informerical for Beach Body's Power 90 System by Tony Horton. Now normally I just take one look at these and move on. I have never ever bought anything fitness like from an informerical before. However this system really caught my eye.
Power 90 is a 90 day boot camp with one day of circuit training, then a day of cardio, followed by circuit again, and so on. I kept the name of the product in mind and then when I woke up later in the day I went online to see what people were saying about it. I read nothing but good things and praises from people that had tried it out. The only problem was it was $100 from Beach Body's website, plus I had read some horror stories from people that bought directly through them and had extras charged to their credit cards continuously. I ended up finding the whole set available off of Amazon for $65.99. I still was a little hesitant and waited a couple days before I actually bought it. I got the set in the mail a couple of days later and I was really excited to try it out!
You start out with Circuit 1 & 2 and Cardio 1 & 2, once you are half way through the 90 days or when you feel ready, you move up to Circuit 3 & 4 and Cardio 3 & 4. All of these come on one DVD so it's very convienent. There is also an Ab Ripper section too.
I thought Circuit 1 & 2 was a little easy at first, but the next day I definitely felt it. It was the same with Cardio 1 & 2 as well. The only thing that I was not a fan of was the yoga featured during the Cardio. I am not a fan of yoga, but I gave it a try but just ended up giving it up. It was too slow and just not my fortay so I will probably skip that section from now on.
The kit also came with a resistance band (however it's a little too hard of a level for me) and it came with a guide book, a calendar and a 6 day fast track plan to lose one pant size in 6 days by following a certain diet plan.
The system also encourages you to buy 2 sets of their supplements and take them while you are working through the 90 days. I would like to try these, but don't have the $75 to buy a one or two month supply. I am still trying to search online and see if I can find something comparative that I could pick up in my local GNC.
Overall I think the system is pretty good. I haven't used it continuously yet, but after my Mom gets done with her visit next week I think I'm going to try and persuade my sister to do it with me everyday. Once we start that I will definitely update you all with your progress! :o)
