My son was asking for a guitar game that was close to this, but more expensive. I couldn't really afford it at the time. So I was searching for something close, when I saw the Power Tour Guitar on sale. I decided it would be close enough to what he wanted.
It is made to look and sound like a real Gibson guitar. I have no experiance with them, so I'm not really sure how close that is to being true.
It also says you are supposed to learn how to play a real electric guitar by playing this. He is having fun learning how to play it. But I don't think it would really relate alot to how you would play a real one.
It comes with an instruction book and DVD on how to learn to play. The DVD seems to explain everything the best and shows you how to do it.
It has no strings, everything is based on sensors and where you place your fingers. That is a plus, since there are no strings to replace or pieces to lose.
You can also plug your MP3 player into it and it acts like a speaker and does a light show to the music.
It takes batteries so there are no cords to trip over. They sell an amp seperately, that would help boost the sound, he hasn't mentioned wanting it though.
I don't think this would be very good for teaching you how to play a real guitar. But it is great fun as a toy to play with and learn the songs. Just be sure to look at it as game.
