The PowerBar Recovery is designed to be used after workouts. And it works. If you look at the nutritional label it gives a good amount of carbs and protein for a post-workout bar. The fat content is fine considering the typical whey-based protein powders, but the saturated fat is at 23% for this 260 cal snack. This probably has to do with the variety I chose, the Peanut Butter and Chocolate flavor, and there may be other versions with a lower satfat content. However, if your diet is anywhere near healthy anyway this shouldn't be of much concern.
This bar is similar to the PowerBar ProteinPlus and tastes just as delicious, so the only real difference between the two is the added protein for Protein Plus. That makes it more expensive, so it should only be used as a post-workout snack for straight weightlifting. Currently I'm in a mixed lifting/running routine so I'm using the Recovery. I'll be going back to the ProteinPlus once I start a majority lifting routine, but both products are good for their respective uses.
