I bought this printer because our lazer one doesn't do color. I wanted an inexpensive color printer that would hold up for at least a couple years. It's been just under 2 years, and so far, I love this printer!

This is a 3-in-1 machine - print, scan, and copy. There isn't a fax function. The input tray is just below the output tray, and this tray folds up, so the machine doesn't take up much desk space when not in use.

I am pretty happy with the speed of all three functions. It's a deskjet, so it's not fast like a laser, but it is much faster than some other largers, supposedly more powerful machines I've used. HP says that is prints and copies at speeds up to 20 ppm black and 14 ppm color- which I've found to generally be true. That's not bad for a small machine!

A few features that I really like about the machine are the one-touch cancel button, that actually cancels the job immediately! Other printers I have used think about cancelling for a bit before decided they'll go ahead and cancel. You can also scan and print 4x5 borderless photos that turn out as nice as the fancy photo printers (up to 1200 x 2400 dpi scan resolution). And the scan cover actually comes fully off, so you can scan thick and/or awkward materials. This is so hard to do when you can't take the cover completely off!

Overall, I highly recommend this printer. My one complaint is that the print cartridges are small and I tend to go through them rapidly, especially the black cartridge. But, this is to be expected with a small printer, so I really shouldn't complain!
