When our coffee maker decided to break one morning we were left caffeine-less for a day. I thought we would go shopping over the weekend and purchase another, but my husband had other plans. He stopped at our local grocery store and bought a Proctor Silex. Okay I'm not one to complain but I've never owned a Proctor Silex and was used to a Bunn or at least Mr. Coffee.
I have to admit the model he picked is stylish. It is streamline and low profile, so it does not take up too much space on the counter. The unit functions pretty well and is very simple to operate. It has an automatic timer.
Ah yes, the automatic timer. For this it needs a clock. Here's where I will put down this unit, there is no light in the LCD. The numbers are black on a gray background so if you want to see the time you have to strain. Thank goodness for my kitchen clock. Otherwise, the timer works great and the programming is very simple to set up.
Thus far I have been impressed with the coffee it puts out. There is a brew selector, so you can regulate your strength. It brews pretty fast too, which is good for the "I want it now" person. There is also a brew stop feature if you want to interrupt brewing to grab a cup.
I have to say for the price it is a pretty decent coffee maker.
