I make many cups of tea throughout the day (and night!) I used to use a microwave to heat the water to brew my tea, but while watching a British television series on cable, I noticed that they seemed to always use an electric kettle. Who knows how to brew tea better than the British? So I decided that I would mimic them, and began a search for a reasonably priced, efficient electric kettle. I found what I was searching for in the Proctor Silex 1 Quart Automatic Electric Kettle.

It's a nicely designed white plastic kettle with a blue insert that lets you see how much water is inside. The water boils fast - in 5 miutes or so -much quicker than using the stove or even the microwave. It stays hot long enough to brew a second cup of tea. The kettle has an automatic shut off in case you get distracted and forget to turn it off yourself. I love buying gadgets to make my life easier, and this one certainly has! It would be useful for instant cocoa, soup, oatmeal, or anything you might need boiling water for.

Cons - The cord is too short - only about a foot and a half long -and could be a safety hazard. Other than that, it's a great little kettle for the money, and something that I use every day.
