What can be more romantic than getting love letters on the most surprising ways and ending it with the famous P.S. I Love You note?
Well, this movie is just that but with a sad twist. Hilary Swank stars as Holly who is a bright and successful woman married to Gerry, acted by the hunky Gerard Butler who is funny and knows Holly more than her mother does (Kathy Bates acts as the mom of Holly) and her friends Sharon (Gina Gershon) and Denise (Lisa Kudrow).
The sad part is that Gerry died of an illness and left Holly on her own. But on Holly's 30th birthday, he surprised her by sending her a birthday cake and a recorded tape imploring her to go out and celebrate rather than sulk and mourn.
So, she did with the help of her sister and friends. And later on, as the months pass by, she would get special messages from Gerry and always delivered in the most surprising ways.
I am not going to tell you the rest because I want you to watch this beautiful film. It is so poignant and yet full of love from both Holly and Gerry. It's a story of loving and having to let go and knowing how to accept the pains associated in losing someone you dearly love.
The movie is approx 120 mins. and the DVD has additional features like additional scenes, James Blunt "Same Mistake" music video, and learn how to play the game "Snaps"
