Much to my delight, I got many of my presents for my birthday and Christmastime supremely early. Someone was in a very generous mood. One of the gifts I received was this eyeshadow in Royal Flush. It is a very pretty periwinkle, lavender color in the pan. It looks very concentrated and intense in there. This is a soft shimmer eyeshadow.
I was surprised by the sheerness of the shadow on my eyelid. I used the sponge-tipped applicator that was included. Usually these applicators apply shadow more intensely than fluffier bristled eyeshadow brushes. I could only imagine how light the eyeshadow would look when applied with one of those.
I applied a few layers of the eyeshadow on each lid at around 9 AM. I needed a few to make the color visible. On my eyes, it is this nice, understated, light violet hue. It is a good everyday eyeshadow because of how sheer it is. It is good for daytime. The shadow stayed and had the same intensity until 3 PM. I noticed at about 5 PM, there was some creasing of the eyeshadow and it looked more faded. I think it has very good staying power overall and lasted much of the day
I am so impressed with Clinique's packaging. First of all, I like the box it comes in. I love the light pink color and the design on it. On the eyeshadow package itself, there is a mirror-like surface on the front. In a pinch, a person can grab this from their bag and without even opening it, they can check their appearance. The back is clear and you can see the eyeshadow and brush. On the inside is an actual mirror, the shadow and an applicator.
This cost $10.00 and was bought for me at The Cosmetics Company Store.
