Because I spend so much time on the computer, I needed something to rest my feet on. I wasn't actively searching, but the foot stools that I did see were not appealing or were too expensive.
After having lunch at Cracker Barrell Restaurant, I was looking around their gift shop. If you have never visited a Cracker Barrell, you're in for a treat. First of all, their food is basic down home cooking. It's good and reasonably priced. In their store, which you go through to get to the restaurant, they have some of the most unusual items I've found anywhere and their prices are reasonable. They carry home decor, food, clothing, toys, bedding and a large assortment of items that were common in past decades. It's like taking a trip down memory lane. Their merchandise changes frequently as they are always decorated for the current or upcoming holidays.
As I wandered around the store, I came across these really pretty foot stools. The legs are wrought iron and the top is heavy fabric with a stitched floral design. I was definitely intersted and that interest turned to happiness when I saw the price. Just $19.99!! This was not a sale and this was not cheaply made merchandise. I was thrilled.
The foot stool has been under my computer desk for the past 5 years and it's still in perfect condition. I'm amazed at how well it has held up, especially the fabric. I had originally thought that if the fabric fell apart, I could recover it, but at this rate, that may be years away.
This little stool has been wonderful, not only to look at, but it's very comfortable to rest my feet on. I love it and use it every day. That $20 investment paid off quite well.
