As a firm believer of the power of drinking water, a container that will effectively store my water and help me keep track of my intake is essential. I have gone through many a plastic waterbottle, but after two days in my crazy lifestyle, that water bottle is crushed beyond repair and no longer functionable.

I then decided to move onto heavier plastic bottles and came upon the Nalgene bottle. At first, I did not really see the big fuss about this particular bottle, but since I was thirsty and needed a bottle, I purchased it, expecting a short and uneventful life span. Little did I know my life would change for the better.

When I began to fill this bottle up with water, the measurement marks caught my eye. Immediately, my mind began to calculate the approximate amounts of water I should be drinking per day, setting goals for myself on an hourly basis. Ever since then, I drink 3 times the amount of water I used to, and I always find myself fully hydrated and energetic, and constantly toting this 1000ml bottle. Hand carrying is very easy, since the bottle and bottle top are attached via a strong plastic loop that only require 2 fingers to hold.

Another thing I love about this bottle is its indestructibility. I have dropped, kicked, and thrown this bottle around so many times, and yet it remains perfectly intact, save normal wear of the material. I have no worries about stuffing this in my backpack, since it will never leak or get crushed from the massive amounts of books.

When I discovered that Nalgene is a number 7 plastic, I was afraid that any extreme heat exposure (i.e. dish washer or in a car) could be dangerous to my health. However, Nalgene went the extra mile to make their bottles bpa free, which completely eliminates the danger altogether. So don’t worry about dishwashing it, although a good hand wash is always the easiest alternative.

Nalgene comes in many different colors and can be found in many places like college bookstores or sport stores. I highly recommend it for those who just want to spice up their water-drinking experience.
