I was able to get a personal loan from Citi Financial to pay off some credit cards and my university tuition. The Citi Financial agent made it very easy to apply and explained, in detail each aspect of the application. They also had easy repayment options so I could pay off the loan early and without penalty. I needed collateral for the loan so I put my car up. The term of the loan was 48 months and I paid $490.06 monthly.

What I didn't like was the cost of borrowing. Due the to high interest of the loan it would cost me $7, 766.82 to borrow $16, 000 (including fees and mandatory insurance) so I was determined to pay it off sooner than the 48 months, which I did (yeah me!). You also have to be aware of additonal fees that they add on (which is why I scored them low on Additional Fees). I had to pay for loan insurance. $612.60 for Creditor Life, $1336.09 for Creditor Disability and $886.81 for Creditor Involuntary Unemployment Insurance; which increased the loan amount. You also have to pay to register your personal property wich was and additional $42.07.

It wasn't bad because I needed the cash at the time. Their customer service was great and the flexible repayment options suited my needs. However, I've learned my lesson and I would never use them again due to the high interest and additional fees.
