I hate having cable. When my husband and I first moved to Oregon, we got in touch with our local cable company. Within the first six to eight months we had many problems so we started to look at getting a dish. While speaking to the same company that carries my phone service, Qwest, they informed me that they contract with Direct TV. From there on out, we were hooked. Within a couple of days we had our Dish and they sent operators out to our house to hook up the system. They showed us how it work, made sure that there was reception, and when they left we both felt very comfortable about operating the new system.
We have had Qwest's dish service for about a year now and have not had many problems. The only one that I can really think of is, that when it gets windy, sometimes the reception will waiver a little. That is not too bad because the box will correct itself so that the reception is better.
When speaking with Customer Service, it is just like any other place. Sometimes you get those really nasty, not willing to work with you type people, but mostly you get people that will work with you. So far, most of the calls we have had to make, the rep will go over your bill for you and they actually try to save you money. Now that's something I have never heard of.
