We bought our beagle puppy last Feburary and we bought the first baby gate we saw at a good price. Over time we got very tired of it as it was meant for low traffic areas and we had ours in the hall right before the kitchen. My mother got tired of this real quick, not only was it annoying to have to lift up the bar and move the whole thing aside but it was made of wood my dogs favorite thing to chew on. My dog had stopped chewing on it after we had scolded her each time she did. My brother and I ended up jumping over it but those unlucky few shorter people in the house were stuck having to move it. My mom also runs a day care and the 3 year old she takes care of finds it easy to open the gate. The other day my mom finally had it and she told me to research some baby or pet gates that had a walk through door. Most cost around 50-70 dollars until I found this one for only 29.44 at walmart online. I checked to see if it was in stock at my nearby store and it was. That same weekend we went to buy it and it was it the baby section and as stated was in stock. We brought it home and it was easy to install we had to hammer it in for a tight enough fit but it was fine. Benefits of this gate was that you didnt need to put nails or anything in the wall (unless you're putting it at the top of the stairs) as it is pressure mounted. Another pro is that 3 year old I mentioned wasn't able to open the door as the locking mechanism requires a bit of strength to pull aside. The only con that i can think of is the sadness of my dog as she can't jump on people the moment they arrive.
