The company I work for uses Sun Life Financial for managing our RRSP plans. Contributions to my RRSP are deducted directly from my pay which makes it easier to contribute every two weeks. I also have a variety of funds to choose from which helps because if you want to be agressive with your funds you can or if you want slow steady growth, you can choose those funds as well. Sun Life financial makes retirement planning easy for you!

I have several Asset Classes to choose from:

~ Cash & Equivalents

~ Fixed Income

~ Canadian Equity

~ U.S. Equity

~ International Equity

I choose the funds that I want to invest in under the above asset classes. My funds are mostly agressive as I have more than 30 years until I retire. I am heavily invested in Canadian Equity funds at the moment. If I want to change my fund allocation it is so easy - I can do it either online or by calling Sun Life. I can also see how my investments are doing by logging in to my account. They will also mail you your statements each quarter.

There are numerous tools available that can help you with you retirement planning. I like using the Asset Allocation Tool. It helps you get a better picture of the type of investor you are so you know where to place your money. I've also used the 'Pay off my mortgage or contribute to my RRSP' calculator that helped me decide to do with a bonus I received from work. I like the fact that there are lots of RRSP Tips available that you can read and see if you are making the right decisions for your retirement.

Whether you are a DIY investor or need the assistance of an advisor, Sun Life Financial makes retirment planning and investing in RRSPs easy!
