My daughter absolutely loves science. She is fascinated by how things work and has recently found an interest in the planets. For Christmas last year my sister bought my daughter a remote control moom (which sort of doubles as a nightlight).
The moon is battery operated and comes with a single button remote. Their is also a light sensor which enables the moon to light up when the room becomes dark. When powered on the moon will go through all of the cycles that the regular moon goes through. If you wish then you can push the button on the remote to speed up the process.
While this remote control moon is very simple it is also very cool. My daughter really enjoyed it but did grow tired of it after a few months.
