Some 5 years ago, I have a serious case of acne. I had it since highschool and it got worst until late college days. It was like the end of the world for me. Why not, I looked every inch like a ripe tomato because my face was really reddish all over.
I usually had my pimples pricked but during that instance I decided to stop. After all, I don't think anyone should be undergoing pricking sessions when you have a serious case of breakouts. That's when I decided to consult a specialist, a true-blooded dermatologist. I went to University of Sto. Tomas hospital -- which is by the way, one of the best hospitals in Manila because of their outstanding pool of doctors -- and had myself checked by a licensed dermatologist.
Just upon seeing my face, she recommended me to use a very mild soap for washing and prescribed Retacnyl cream by Galderma. Usage is 3 times a day for the first month due to severity, and eventually became a once a day application. My dermatologist says I need not worry since the product is going to be a long-term investment when she noticed that I got a weird smile after I learned how much the cream would cost.
I realized it wasn't too bad trying since a tube would last up to a month before you buy another one. My pimples really went away and did not come back anymore. I've stopped using it for nearly 3 years already and I don't get any more zits. Well, I get one or two when I'm approaching my menstruation period due to hormonal changes, but it's very rare.
Personally, it's a proven cream for me. I used a lot before but it's only with Retacnyl that proved effective to me. I had my sister use it, too, and so far her pimples were also gone. I'm just so happy I used it and now I bade pimples goodbye!
