We are big Disney fans and also love to travel to tropical places. My husbands casual wardrobe reflects this by the many Disney and tropical style shirts he has in his closet. A few of these shirts actually even combine the two.

Reyn Spooner opened their first store in Hawaii in 1959. They are the most widely know manufacturer of true "Aloha" shirts. Through a partnership with Disney, they have designed several shirts that feature Disney attractions like the Tiki Room or characters form both Disney and Pixar movies. The company only manufactures enough fabric of each pattern and color to produce about 3, 000 shirts. This makes them not only great shirts but also collectors items as well.

He has a few of these shirts but the one he gets the most attention from when he wears it is the Monsters, Inc. shirt. They also made this shirt in a matching child size that we bought for my son. The shirt is super soft and made from 100% stabilized rayon that is preshrunk and colorfast. The pattern on the shirt features Mike and Sully the main characters from the movie as well as pictures of doors in different shapes and colors. If you have not seen the movie, the doors are how the monsters travel around and get in your closet to scare you at night. He has had this shirt for several years now and wears it all the time yet it still looks almost new. The shirt material shows no signs of wear and the colors are still crisp and bright. The shirt can be washed on the gentle cycle or be dry cleaned which is how he has always cleaned it.

From the amount of people that start conversations with him about this shirt, it seems to be one of the more rare shirts made by Reyn Spooner for Disney out there. There have even been a few people over the years that have offered him money for the shirt. He loves it and when he and my son wear theirs together, they look so cute. This shirt was well worth the money we paid for it.
