Normally I am one of those rare people who do not like Nora Robert's books. So when I was given the entire Chesapeake Bay Saga as a birthday present I was thinking about donating these books to my local library. Surprisingly enough I did give these books a chance and loved each one! This is book 2 in the series. Each book has the first hand account of men who used to be abused boys, but saved by a loving couple. The stories tell about the men's past as well as their current situations with life and love.
Ethan is a quiet man who had a less than perfect childhood. He was saved by Mr. and Mrs. Quinn, a couple who had a knack for adopting half grown boys who no one else wanted. Ethan has always been halfway in love with Grace. Ethan has an inner conflict that keeps him from going after the one he wants most.
My thoughts: The plot line from book 1-4 in this saga is magnificent. I really enjoyed all of the characters. Sure they are your usual sappy romance books but with a lot more added depth. These stories could actual be similar (in some ways) to an actual persons life. These are characters who anyone can relate to. I have tried to read numerous books by Nora Roberts and I just never liked them. This series was great. I guess you can't always judge a book by it's author ;o)
