This is a block of dark chocolate with hazelnuts embedded in it. I really like the taste of this one, but it’s a little hard to eat.
This comes in a block of 16 small squares (100g bar) which are meant to be broken apart, although it won’t really break along the lines due to the nuts- but that means that there are lots of nuts, not just a skimpy addition to the bar. The chocolate itself is very dark and smooth, but not bitter, and the texture of the nuts, and light flavor enhance it a lot. The flavor I was given is Dark Whole Hazelnut, but there are 20 flavors available.
My only complaint is that if your teeth are a little iffy, there are so many nuts that it can be difficult to eat.
It is German chocolate, and the web site is kind of fun. By clicking the pictures you can stack and unwrap the bars.
Bars come in 100g (3.5 oz) and 250 g sizes. The flavors are:
White Whole Hazelnut
Caramel & Nuts
Raisins & Hazelnuts
Dark Whole Hazelnuts (the one I have)
Fine Extra Dark Chocolate
Alpine Milk Chocolate
A la Mousse au Chocolat
They call 6 squares a serving, with 210 calories per serving. I easily had half the bar for a dessert, which is 8 squares.
This is apparently a very old chocolate company, although I had never heard of it. I’d like to try some of the other flavors. I don’t know where this one was purchased, but I see it is available on Amazon for $2.85 a bar.
