When purchasing RockBand for the X-Box 360 for my eldest son I was a little put-off by the price. He purchased his own X-Box but requested this game for his 24th birthday. It was a little difficult to locate but I went on line and found that the local Target had some of them in stock. I purchased it, a very large and heavy box and went home to wrap it.
Needless to say my son and his wife love the game, they and their friends get together and play it several times a week. My son even brought it up to his brothers college apartment when we had a family get together and even my 52 year old husband got in on the act.
The game comes with a DVD as well as a drum pad set, drumsticks, wireless microphone, a bass and a guitar. It is similar to the Guitar Hero game in that you choose a set of songs to play, assign a person to each instrument and the mike and you do your best to follow the colors on the screen on your instrument. If you manage to play all the songs in the set you attract fans, if you fail at the song you lose fans. The more sets you complete the more fans you attract and the more songs you unlock.
Although I was skeptical of this game it definitely is worth the price if you love music and can follow the cues on the tv screen to play the instrument. It was great fun to see my three sons and husband and daughter in law all play the game.
