We paid $39.98 for these shoes when the box states $34.98, sorry just had to add that in because I just realized that. I've been nagging my husband about wearing more nicer shoes when we go out in public. He's pretty picky about what he wants & doesn't like anything remotely formal. He's a real casual person. We were born & raised in Hawaii, everyone wears slippers (flip flops) every where. So the most formal I could get him to do is black shoes. He found these at Sears with steel toe. These would also be good for anyone with diabetes to prevent any foot injuries. It is a bit heavier due to the steel toe but, he says it is really comfortable, even more comfortable than his work boots with steel toe. They're not my idea of formal but, if I can get him to cover his feet that are in dire need of a pedicure then these will have to do. These shoes provide him with comfort as well as a sense of formality & also have a bonus of preventing him from stubbing his toes or getting them crushed.
