The cold months are here and so come the higher heating bills. More than ever now, I pay attention to turning down the the heat and night and a few hours during the day.
There is a lot more we can all do, to help save on the utility bills. Last months, I bought some weather stripping products to help cut down on the drafts that sneak inside the house, through the doors and windows.
Frost King brand, has several different products on the market that are meant for insulating the cracks and crevices, where cold air can get in. Weatherproofing is a good idea.
I used the "Fingertip Rope Caulk" by Frost King, for around the windows. It seals well and stays in place. It comes in a 90 foot length pack and is a colorful gray. It does the job, though. It is a clay like material and does stick well, sealing out the draft. The material never hardens and you simply put it in place with your fingers.
The weatherproofing caulk is cheap and affordable for almost everyone. It can't help but pay for itself, a few times over, every winter season.
Frost King has a lot of products for a variety of weatherproofing projects. Most hardware departments carry quite a few of their products every season.
