When I moved into my new home, the contractor had sunk the treated lumber mailbox post at the curb, but I had no mailbox. So one of the first things I had to buy was a curbside mailbox for my house. I've had aluminum mailboxes before, and my biggest frustration with them is that they rust, they dent, and they don't keep out the rain well enough to keep my mail dry. So I went to Lowe's specifically to find a mailbox that would never rust, never need painted, could never be dented or mutilated by my mailman, and would look reasonably attractive for a reasonable price.
I found the Rubbermaid Hamilton Curbside Mailbox for only $13. It's made out of a thick plastic polymer, so it will never rust and I won't have the problem of chipped enamel. The door opens easily and seals tightly, keeping the rain out as well as some spiders that thought about nesting in there. The Rubbermaid Mailbox attached easily to my wooden mailbox post and the hardware was included. All in all, I've been very happy with this mailbox.
