How many of you have mismatched food storage containers, missing lids, a stained food container, or maybe a pitted one from heating leftovers in the microwave?
I had a bunch of those, and so many more lids than I had containers for. Where do they go? It's like socks in the dryer!! One day I came home and hubby had thrown most everything out. He had been eyeing a container set at Costco for a while and this was his excuse for picking it up, instead of bypassing it each week.
We now have the new Premier Food Storage Containers from Rubbermaid. The set consists of 28 pieces of beautiful clear plastic storage containers with a scroll design etched into the finish and heavy-duty red lids with a see through top. All the pieces stack into one another so I don't need a lot of cabinet space to store them.
The 28 piece set we purchased includes the following:
4 - 1.25 cup containers with lids
4 - 2 cup containers with lids
2 - 3 cup containers with lids
3 - 5 cup containers with lids
1 - 9 cup container with lid
Some of the great features are:
Resists Stains and Odors....So far I have not had a problem with either.
Shatterproof....I'm not about to drop one on the floor to check this out but they do get banged around a bit with no problems.
Microwave, Dishwasher and Freezer Safe....Yes, Yes, and Yes. I have both cooked and frozen in them, and cleaned them in the top rack of the dishwasher.
Storage Organization....the lids snap to the bases and the other lids, which makes for great organization and no hunting for lids to match a container.
BPA Free....the plastic does not contain Bisphenol A. BPA is an industrial chemical that's been found in hard plastic bottles and also metal-based food and/or beverage cans Who needs to store food in containers with industrial chemicals?
We've been very pleased with these Rubbermaid Premier storage containers. The clear plastic makes it easy to see what we have stored in the refrigerator and freezer. The lids seal securely and it hasn't been a problem to snap them on or remove them. If you're looking to downsize the number of storage containers in your cabinets, please check these out at Rubbermaid.
