Anyone who has read some of my previous reviews already knows I'm a huge University of Kentucky fan. Naturally at some point you had to expect me to be writing about their home court. So here it is!
Rupp Arena is the home of my glorious cats and has hosted its fair share of NCAA Tournaments since it was built. It was named after the historic Kentucky basketball coach Adolph Rupp who is well known through out the basketball community no matter who your team is.
It has a seating capacity of about 23, 500 and on most nights during basketball season almost all 23, 500 of those shiney blue pastic seats are filled with screaming fans of all ages.
This facility is the centerpiece of Lexington, KY which is home to the University of Kentucky college campus although the arena itself is not on campus. It is set up wonderfully for the fans with ample parking space, security so there are is no trouble and is always found neat and orderly before any event.
The staff at Rupp are all wonderful and go above and beyond to help out anyone attending an event at the location and promptly after things are over everything is cleaned back to its blue and white glory.
If you ever get the chance to attend any type of event at Rupp Arena, especially a men's basetball game, I highly reccomend it. It is truely an experience you have to see and feel to believe. The passion for the sport of basketball in this one building is overwhelming to any sports fan and will not disappoint.
