I'm not generally a fan of buddy cop movies; Eddie Murphy was great in Beverly Hills Cop when I was 14 but it seemed like each similar movie since has been a disappointment for me. That's why I'm glad to say that either it's been long enough since I've seen one of these or this was genuinely a pretty good movie. Chris Tucker was as annoying as advertised but sufficiently funny at the same time. And Jackie Chan was remarkable considering his limited English (see the blooper reel as the final credits roll.) The action was all well choreographed but more than that, I appreciated the humor. I might not have laughed out loud during the flick but I was having fun with the light-hearted tone. The plot itself was nothing to write home about but worked for the movie. I probably should have watched this in the 90s with everyone else.
