My baby at one time had rashes on her face. It was not determined how she got it, but I believe it was food allergy. One pediatrician recommended using Novas Hypoallergenic Baby Bath Soap on her face.
I was not aware of Novas before the doctor told me about it because this product is not being advertised. So I went to the drugstore to buy one, as it is not available in grocery stores and supermarkets. It is a medicated soap.
It is clear without any scent, so I really believe it is a very pure soap. According to the label it is mild and "does not alter normal pH balance of delicate skin." Cool.
So I dissolved some soap on my hand and applied it on my baby's face. The problem is, my baby moves around so much and does not like anything being applied on her face. In fact, she does not want her face cleaned, like her nose, etc. So I had a hard time applying the soap on her face, as she moved from side to side and bobbed her head up and down. In the end, she got some soap suds on her eyes and since it stings, she cried so hard. It is not like the No More Tears formula of Johnsons. It took a long time for us to rinse off everything and to calm her down. She was 8 months old then.
I am not sure then if it works for baby's delicate skin, but it did for me. During the time that time that my baby had rashes, I also had rashes on my arms. I used the soap twice a day and my rashes did dry up after two days. Then they eventually healed.
This soap is more expensive than the usual baby soaps at the grocery, but it is very pure and safe.
