Samurai Jack, the hit Emmy Award-winning show by Dexter's Laboratory creator Genndy Tartakovsky, finally arrives on DVD in this 13-episode 2 disc box set. A young nameless samurai has made it his mission in life to rid the world of the evil shapeshifter Aku, who is plaguing the world with his darkness. But during his battle with the ultimate evil, the samurai is sent through time, ending up in a bleak future where Aku rules the world. Now, it's up to the newly-named Jack to traverse the land in search of a means to take him back home. But it won't be easy, because Aku is more powerful than ever, and he'll do whatever he can to destroy Jack once and for all.
As far as special features go, we have a "making of" featurette, featuring quite an interesting look at the creator's inspiration for the show and how it was made. We also have commentary on several episodes, a look at the original animation test as Jack takes on a group of monster robot beetles, and some neat concept artwork. Definitely a great way to start off the season sets.
Samurai Jack has three more seasons to go before the whole series is available on DVD, but if the releases continue like this, you can be sure fans will eat them up.
