I have only been to San Antonio once, but would absolutely love to go back again. I went for a conference, so sadly my days were taken up, which is a large reason I would like to go back. The nightlife, however, left no dissappoints. There are so many things to see and do in San Antonio, it was easy to head out around dinner time and not get back until the early hours of the morning. To start off, there is the Alamo, which is a very neat historical site. Part of the fort still stands, as well as a church, and a museum. It is odd to see the Alamo today, because you are walking through the middle of the city, and all of a sudden it pops out at you. The riverwalk is also amazing to see. This is a manmade river that snakes its way through the city off of the San Antonio River. There are so many restaraunts, shops, and hotels that there is plenty to do, but it is nice simply to walk around and take it all in. During Christmas they even have lights in all the trees, making it even more beautiful. There are plenty of restaraunts, from chains like Chili's or Hard Rock Cafe, to more unique restaraunts (I highly recommend Casa Rio). Later at night, all the bars seem to come to life, we tried out Coyote Ugly, which was a lot of fun, as well as a piano bar and a few other places. There is a wide variety of hotels, so you can find something for any budget. We stayed in a Hampton Inn off the River Walk a little ways, that was very nice, and very affordable.
