The Sansa View is a sleek mid-sized mp3 player with radio and recording capability. The player can be picky as to what it will play but the device comes with software in needed which will automatical convert media including video to a supported format and optimum file size and quality. Media can be draged and droped onto the device; however, any items not supported will only be stored. The playback quality of music, video, and photos is very good and the content will be rotated on the screen to allow better viewing in a landscape frame.
One issue I have found is that on both 128 and 192 bitrates if a playlist becomes to long a list the device will lag, this problem doesn't occur unless you play a playlist of I'd like to say about 200 songs. But if you are playing a list of 100 of 1000 the device won't lag. The battery life is extremely good during music playback with the screen turning off when not recieving commands.
In all a very nice device with expandable storage and a sturdy feel.
As for the earbuds, replace them, but please note I think this of most.
The menus are graphical and use either directional clicks or spins of the center control, some buttons change use depending on media and menu. I would suggest that anyone to buy this purchase a good case or cover, because my feeling is the screen can be scratched easily which my carrying sleeve has protected the screen from.
