I had tried this a long time ago for the sole purpose of converting my videos to the appropriate format - that being DVD, followed by getting that burned onto a DVD. First off, I'm currently using one already that does indeed that, along with another (convert; burn), and ever since I started using those, I haven't even gave other programs a try since I have became aware as to their performance and overall quality. There are those that are worthy of sitting on your computer, and on the other hand of course are those who can be put to shame since the company is pretty much charging you money for basically what may seem "unparalled crap".
And this piece of software in particular is no exception. It took about 20 minutes for it to get to a percentage of only 1, compared to WinAVI which at that certain point and time would be at 7%. Now this is from converting a 2GB file onto DVD format with a high output - and shocked I was to see that that was the case with DVD Santa. Not just that - it pretty much looks like the interface was just thrown on there just to get that program out on the market and start making money.
I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case, but with that aside, it also tends to interfere with installed codecs, therefore causing frustration and immediately wanting to ask for a prompt refund. And I find it hilarious how there's really no customer service in regards to this product - oooh, how convenient, isn't? I can see that it does work, but when set onto a high quality output, it's far from that as I started to see pixelated scenes on the converted movie clips. And that's comparing it to WinAVI, which doesn't have such a problem and actually does what it says it does. Avoid this at all costs!
