This movie is one of Tom Hanks best films. Tom Hanks rarely disappionts as an actor and this movie is no exception.

It is about Captain John Miller (Tom Hanks) and his men. They must go behind enemy lines to find Private James Ryan (Matt Damon), whose brothers have been killed in action. Very INTENSE. This movie will make you feel like you are right there on the battle field. It is very graphic in parts, the initial Normandy invasion scenes are pretty bloody and hard to watch. Steven Spielberg makes it seem like you are right in the middle of the action. This movie will show the true footage of War: death, decapitation and amputation. This movie is not for young viewers.

If you enjoy war type movies then Saving Private Ryan is one you should really watch it. I really enjoy the movie myself. Although it is fiction it is a great World War II movie and makes you think what those men went through during that time. This movie in my opinion is really one of the best war type movies ever made. I love the acting and the special effects. The scene on Omaha Beach is amazing! I give it two thumbs up.

The special bonus disc has some great features like:

An inside look with the filmmakers, Looking into the past The research, the screenplay and the vision; The making of a Platoon; Boot Camp for the Cast; and my favorite -- Re-creating D-Day: Omaha Beach.

I recommend taking the time to watch Saving Private Ryan. It's a long movie, nearly 3 hours, but it is worth it.
