Just about everyday I ride my bike 5 miles in the afternoon. I have a trail that runs behind my apartment and the stretch of it that I do is about 2.5 miles out, and then 2.5 miles back in. Where the trail ends and I turn around there is a little post with drinking fountains. Well, the other day I decided I was pretty thirsty and I needed a drink. Needless to say the water was so warm that I felt like I was drinking bath water. YUCK! So off I went to Target to find me a water bottle and water bottle cage for my bike so I could have cold water whenever I needed it, no matter what part of my 5 mile trek I was at.
I ended up getting the Schwinn 23oz water bottle and cage. It was a set for $8.99, quite a bargain I thought. Well when I got it home I found out that the screws that came with it had to involve me drilling holes into my bike to screw it on. I didn't want to do that so I got a little "MacGyveresque" and ended up securing the cage on with zip ties. I was able to get them very tight and the water bottle fit inside the cage just great!
The water bottle has little grips on the side which make it easy to hold on to, especially if your hands are a little sweaty. You don't want to be grabbing for the bottle and have it slip out of your hands while you're biking at 10mph!
This was a great purchase and it definitely quenches my thirst when I hit the halfway mark! Every avid biker should have one of these on their bike!
