Secretariat is a great Disney movie. It has a true story, and is full of action packed scenes. Horse racing enthusiasts are sure to love this film. From the earliest race to the triple crown, this movie delivers a hero unmatched in the sport of horse racing. Secretariat delivers astounding heart pounding action, and the true to life drama behind the owners and their struggles.

This movie is a part of history that hasn't been repeated in over 25 years. Secretariat ran the fastest time ever recorded at the Belmont and this movie shows you the heart of a champion. The acting and portrayal of the characters involved is excellent. The film is in the era of the late 1960's and early 1970's. The style with which the main character displays herself in the role is fabulous, and realistic.

If you enjoy taking the kids to the track to watch, this one is a must see. Kids really enjoy animals, and this movie goes to the heart of that. Love, courage, pride, and charisma, it has it all. Secretariat a rated PG film, and is suitable for most audiences. Kids enjoy the history, and action packed racing scenes as a way to understand the thrill of the action back in those days.

If you enjoy the underdog this movie is for you. This movie takes you from a foal, to Secratariats 2-year-old sweep of the Triple Crown. The owner against all odds displays courage and strength to believe that her horse has the winning spirit of a champion. Secretariat comes to the races ready to run, and doesn't disappoint when it comes to the sound quality of the performance. The jockey who rides Secretariat is aggressive, and tenacious. Never giving up throughout he displays the kind of courage it takes for a winning jockey.

The movie overall is excellent, and the time is right at 2 hours for viewing. Most people hit pause at least once to make popcorn, and use the restroom. It's a little long, but well worth the 2 hours invested, and gives the viewer insight into the racing industry and how it has matured. The movie shows us that a female owner, and a strong jockey coming together to race is equal to the heavyweight title of boxing except horse racing, and that what ever stands in the way dealt with, and defeated. What a great movie. This choice will entertain for sure.
